The Reading Quest TBR

Time to try something new. I'll be joining the reading quest this month, starting July 13th and ending September 10th.
You can find everything about this quest here: https://readatmidnight.com/2017/07/29/thereadingquest-sign-up/
I chose to start the Mage path. The books I'll try to read are these:
  • A book with a one word title: Vuur by Karel Verleyen
  • A book that contains magic: Air Awakens by Elise Kova
  • A book based on mythology: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
  • A book set in a different world: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
  • The first book of a series: The Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz
If I have time to continue with the knight path I'll read these books:
  • A book with a verb in its title: Wandering by C.E. Dimond
  • A book with a weapon on its cover: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
  • A book with a red cover: Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz
  • A book that has a tv/movie adaptation: Niets was alles wat hij zei by Nic Balthazar
I don't think I'll get further than this, but just in case I found a fitting book for some of the side quests as well:
  • A book concocted by 2+ authors: Because You Love to Hate Me by ... (A LOT of authors)
  • Buddy read a book: The Soddit by Adam Roberts (This will the the chosen book I'll read together with a group of friends in September)
  • Read whatever you want: I'll see what has my interests at that point.
  • Read a companion novel or short story: Non-Heir by Rachel E. Carter
If you're joining as well, let me know ;)

Much love,
Ellen

Summer Biannual Bibliothon 2016 - TBR

Yay, I'll be joining this Summer Biannual Bibliothon and I'm so excited. I'll be home alone the whole week this readathon is taking place as my parents and sister will be on holiday.
For those of you who don't know about this readathon yet: this readathon is hosted on the 'Biannual Bibliothon' YouTube channel, which is hosted by different youtubers (booktubers). During this readathon there's 7 reading challenges. For those challenges I'll now give you guys my TBR. One important rule: since reading 7 books in 7 days is a lot, you can use one book for two challenges, not for three. So each book can be used once or twice, no more than that.

Spring TBR

Spring is finally there, which means we're getting so close to summer and summer break (which means so much time to read!). Here in Belgium spring break started (March 28 - April 10) and that means I finally get a break from my busy college schedule. I have a lot of things to do for my courses though, so it's not really all fun and games the next two weeks. My teaching internship starts right after the break and I have to prepare 10 classes for that, 5 for English and 5 for history. This will take a lot of time. Together with exam preparations (though they're in June, I won't have a lot of time to study after this break) and a huge portfolio that I'll have to put together for my English language and culture class, it'll be a busy two weeks.
Luckily I'll be able to plan everything and free up some time to read. I've been in a major reading slump for the past month and it's time to snap out of it. This will be a long TBR because it's for a season, not just one month. It'll nicely sum up what I want to read by the end of this semester.
  • Fruit of Misfortune by Nely Cab
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë (college reading)
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (college reading)
  • The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
  • Air Awakens by Elise Kova
  • Truthwitch by Susan Dennard
  • Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
  • Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  • Tethered Wings by Cameo Renae
  • Gilded Wings by Cameo Renae
  • Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
  • Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler
Why thirteen books? Because from this point spring has 13 weeks left, and to keep up with my Goodreads reading challenge I have to read one book a week. So far I'm still a few books ahead of schedule so that's awesome.

Happy Easter!
Ellen

December TBR

I know I won't have a lot of time this month, but here are the books I'd like to read before the end of this year.
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling
  • Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
  • Everything With You by Kaylee Ryan
I'm only one book away from my Goodreads reading challenge. One book and I'll have read 30 books this year.

Leave a link to your TBR in the comments, I'd love to see them.

Much love,
Ellen

October TBR

Since I don't know how much free time I'll actually have this month, I'll make this TBR small. I may change my thought about some books. I'm going to try to read whatever I feel like reading, because I have a lot of books that I have to read for my theater and literature courses and I'll need something light to break that up every once in a while.
I'm really excited about this month, the weather is getting colder and cosy things are coming back.
Anyways, here are the books I plan on reading this month.
  • Color Me Creative by Kristina Webb
  • Broken Wings by Cameo Renae
  • My Life with the Walter Boys
That's all I'm going to put in my TBR, my wrap-up will contain a lot of school books though.

Much love and have a nice month,
Ellen

Much love,
Ellen

Bout of Books read-a-thon 14: Day 1 + TBR

Bout of Books

So like I've said in a previous post, I'm joining this Bout of Books read-a-thon.
I'm not going to set big goals for myself this week because I'll be starting work on Tuesday. I'll only have time to read after work and I'll try to take my ereader to read during lunch or when I don't have a lot to do.

The books I want to read this week are:
- The Faerie War by Rachel Morgan (Creepy Hollow #3)
- Hidden by Sophie Jordan (Firelight #3)
- The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting (The Body Finder #1)

If I manage to finish these 3 books this week I'll be a happy person.

Day 1:

Challenge:
Fictional world travel by Between Library Shelves.

I live in Belgium, so I can't use a book with a location in Belgium. I guess that's pretty easy to do.

  1. 1984 by George Orwell - dystopian London in 1984, which is now past but when this book was written is was a look into the future. (Book written in 1948)
  2. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - modern day Amsterdam.
  3. Heliopolis by James Scudamore - contemporary São Paulo, Brazil.
  4. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - alternate New York.
  5. Divergent by Veronica Roth - dystopian Chicago.
  6. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - fictional dystopian place called Panem.

What I have read today:

Vanish by Sophie Jordan
Progress: FINISHED

Pages read today: 136
Pages read in total: 136
Books read: 1

You can still sign up for this read-a-thon here! Signing up is possible until Wednesday midnight (CST)!

Much love,
Ellen

August TBR

This month's first Read-A-Thon I'm joining is #AYearAThon (02-08 until 09-08) and the theme is TV and movie adaptations.

The second one is the bout of books Read-A-Thon. There's no theme there so I'll probably read whatever is left after the first one. (16-08 until 23-08)

Here's my TBR of this month:
- City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
- Paper Towns by John Green
- A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
- Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard
- 1984 by George Orwell (which isn't a movie of TV adaptation)

My TBR may change or I may not read all of them, it depends on my mood and the money I have to spend on books.

Much love,
Ellen
